APCUK Welcomes Arrival of Two Palestinian Children from Gaza for Medical Treatment in the UK, Pledges Full Community Support in Collaboration with Project Pure Hope and PCRF
LONDON, UK – 30 April 2025
The Association of the Palestinian Community in the UK (APCUK) proudly welcomes the arrival of two Palestinian children from Gaza who travelled to the UK over the weekend to receive urgent medical treatment. Their transfer was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Project Pure Hope, with support from the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF).
Representatives from APCUK were present alongside Project Pure Hope and PCRF to greet the children upon arrival, marking a significant milestone in a growing partnership forged over recent months.
APCUK has been in close coordination with Project Pure Hope, offering essential community support for children medically evacuated from Gaza. We are honoured to play a role in this life-saving initiative and deeply moved to welcome these courageous children as they begin their treatment journey.
As they settle into their temporary home in the UK, APCUK remains committed to ensuring they are warmly embraced by the Palestinian community in London. In partnership with Project Pure Hope, APCUK has mobilised its volunteer network to provide comprehensive support to the children and their accompanying guardians during their stay.
The arrival of these children is a testament to the power of hope and collective action in the face of unimaginable hardship,” said Dr Nehad Khanfar, Chairperson of APCUK. “Our committee and volunteers stand ready to support them through every step of their treatment, ensuring they feel the warmth, solidarity, and care of their community while far from home.
While celebrating this meaningful achievement, APCUK reiterates the urgent need for ongoing and expanded medical evacuation initiatives. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has left thousands of children with critical injuries requiring specialist treatment that is unavailable locally. We strongly advocate for the continued expansion of programmes enabling Palestinian children to access life-saving medical care in the UK and beyond.

تعلن رابطة الجالية الفلسطينية في المملكة المتحدة (APCUK) عن وصول طفلين فلسطينيين من غزة خلال عطلة نهاية الأسبوع. بفضل الجهود المشكورة لمشروع الأمل النقي (Project Pure Hope)، وصل الطفلان إلى المملكة المتحدة لتلقي العلاج الطبي. وقد استقبل رئيس رابطة الجالية الدكتور نهاد خنفر إلى جانب فريق مشروع الأمل النقي وصندوق إغاثة أطفال فلسطين (PCRF) الطفلين، مما يمثل علامة فارقة في التعاون الذي تم تعزيزه خلال الأشهر الأخيرة.
كانت رابطة الجالية الفلسطينية على اتصال وثيق بمشروع الأمل النقي خلال الأشهر القليلة الماضية، حيث قدمت الدعم لعملهم الهام والمقدر للغاية في تسهيل الإجلاء الطبي وعلاج الأطفال المصابين من غزة. وقد قال الدكتور نهاد خنفر “نحن سعداء للغاية بالتقدم المحرز ويشرفنا أن نكون جزءًا من لجنة الترحيب بهؤلاء الأطفال الشجعان عند وصولهم إلى المملكة المتحدة”.
مع بدء هؤلاء الأطفال رحلتهم العلاجية، تلتزم رابطة الجالية الفلسطينية بالترحيب بهم بحرارة وتسعى الى دمجهم في مجتمع الجالية الفلسطينية في لندن. نحن نؤمن بأن الدعم المجتمعي جزء لا يتجزأ من رفاهيتهم وتعافيهم. بالتنسيق مع مشروع الأمل النقي، حشدت الرابطة شبكة متطوعيها لتقديم كل دعم ممكن للأطفال ومرافقيهم خلال فترة إقامتهم.
وقال الدكتور نهاد خنفر، رئيس رابطة الجالية الفلسطينية في المملكة المتحدة: “إن وصول هؤلاء الأطفال هو شهادة على الأمل والجهد التعاوني في مواجهة الشدائد الهائلة”. وأضاف: “ستظل لجنتنا في الرابطة ومتطوعونا المتفانون ثابتين في تقديم الدعم الشامل طوال رحلتهم العلاجية. نحن هنا من أجلهم في كل خطوة على طريق العلاج، لضمان شعورهم باحتضان ورعاية مجتمعهم وهم بعيدون عن ارض الوطن”.
وبينما نحتفل بهذه الخطوة الإيجابية، تؤكد رابطة الجالية الفلسطينية على الحاجة الملحة والمستمرة لمثل هذه المبادرات. لقد ترك الوضع في غزة عددًا لا يحصى من الأطفال يعانون من إصابات حرب خطيرة تتطلب رعاية طبية متخصصة غير متوفرة محليًا. ندعو بقوة إلى بذل جهود مستمرة وموسعة للسماح لمزيد من الأطفال الفلسطينيين المصابين بالحصول على العلاج اللازم في المملكة المتحدة وأماكن أخرى. لا يزال هناك الكثير مما يجب القيام به لمعالجة هذه الأزمة الإنسانية.
